first_imgLondon City Airport has come out top among UK hubs in a passenger survey, suggesting that the south-east London site is handling increasing flight traffic and traveller numbers well.City was voted the best UK airport by the readers of the Wanderlust magazine, gaining the accolade for the third successive year and strengthening its case for further managed expansion.Close to Canary Wharf’s financial hub, the airport saw its passenger numbers expand to nearly three million in 2008 and is now seeing plans implemented to build new aircraft parking bays, while hopes remain high for a further increase in flight numbers over 2008.Charles Buchanan, strategy director for London City Airport, received the award at Earls Court’s Times Destination Travel Show, saying: “We are delighted that we have won yet again. This is the third consecutive year which Wanderlust readers have voted London City Airport the best UK airport. It means so much more when awards are as a result of passenger opinions.”While other London hubs were notably absent, City beat off competition from Norwich, Inverness, Newcastle and Bristol to take the award.ReturnOne wayMulti-cityFromAdd nearby airports ToAdd nearby airportsDepart14/08/2019Return21/08/2019Cabin Class & Travellers1 adult, EconomyDirect flights onlySearch flights Map RelatedLondon City voted Top UK Airport by Wanderlust magazineLondon City Airport has been voted the Top UK AirportWanderlust names London City UK’s ‘top airport’Wanderlust names London City UK’s ‘top airport’Milestone passenger boards CityJet flight to NantesMilestone passenger boards CityJet flight to Nanteslast_img
