A few months later, he was ruled immediately eligible by the NCAA – meaning he could play this season.Jim Harbaugh has to be pretty happy about that right now. Saturday, Patterson led the Wolverines to a huge rivalry game win over Michigan State. He finished 14-of-25 for 212 yards with two touchdowns in a 21-7 win.Patterson broke the game open with a 79-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones. It broke a 7-7 tie at the time.After the game, Patterson took to Instagram to post a photo of himself celebrating on the way home with the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Michigan fans will love it.Michigan is now 2-2 against Michigan State under Harbaugh, though the Wolverines are still 4-8 against Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio.Michigan, now 7-1, is still in the driver’s seat in the Big Ten East. The Wolverines could have a big showdown with Ohio State on the horizon.
