HOLLYWOOD – One lane of the southbound Hollywood Freeway was closed for hours this morning after a hit-and-run crash that left a car and a tractor-trailer engulfed in flames. The lane re-opened late Monday morning, CHP officials said. No serious injuries were reported as a result of the accident at 3:11 a.m., near the Sunset Boulevard exit, a California Highway official said. The truck driver, a 45-year-old Palmdale resident, told authorities that a speeding Nissan Altima lost control, and collided with his rig. The impact caused the truck driver also to lose control and crach into the center median. Both the car and truck caught on fire, but the occupants of the Nissan left the scene. The truck driver also escaped injury as firefighters were called to battle the blaze. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
